Creating a video project! (Part 1)

Multimedia resources are nowadays very common in our teaching process. Videos are a great tool because they include both pictures and sounds, which engages students. So I decided that my next lesson will include a video. But I don't want to take a video from the Internet and that's all. What I want to do is to create my own video with its corresponding purpose. And to do so I'm going to ask for some help from my incredible partners Sandra, Diego, and Carlota!

First thing first. The lesson will take place in the social science subject in 5th grade. It will be about the differences between our nowadays lifestyle and the one in the past. Our main objective is to show students to appreciate many of the improvements that have happened during the last centuries and how our behavior and necessities have changed. Furthermore, we will raise awareness of cultural aspects. The video will be an introduction to the lesson so it will show some examples.

Now that we have the idea, the next step is to create a storyboard. The storyboard must reflect the complete idea of the video. It is not necessary at all to write every single word that we would say in the video. The idea is to create a visual scheme of the plot and the progress of the story. There are many possibilities to do that, but we decided to prepare it in Storyboard That. As you know, I have already used this web in the past to create a comic. This task is similar but it will end up making the comic come to life. Here you can see our outcome:
