An avatar?
First things first. What is an avatar? Well, there are different definitions but I would say that is like a digital version of yourself. The avatar you create reflects your phisical and emocional characteristics. With it, you are closer to the reader at the same time that it shares your feelings. It might seem just an image, but it's way more than that.
How can I create my own avatar?
There are tons of possibilities when talking about creating an avatar. Here there are some of the most common ones:

Bitmoji is my favourite avatar creator by far. It is user-friendly, you can access from your mobile phone, it has tons of modification possibilities and you can use it in other tools. Let me present you my avatar: 
He is called Andu and he is 231 billion years old, althought it doesn't seem so. This is due to his origins. He can't be considered a human because he comes from a galaxy far far away. However, as he has lived in the Earth for so long, he knows everything about it and can behave like a normal person. He also has hobbies like practicing any kind of sport, playing computer games and watching e-sports, and watching films, specially the sci-fi ones. He also used to like riding dinosaurs, but this is not possible any more.
Andu has lived in many different periods of time and he learnt a lot. That's why he decided to be a teacher like me. He adapts easily to the evolution changes and right now he is learning about technology. He is very good at it but still has lots of resources to discover. That's why he wants to come along with me through this new experience.
How can I use my avatar?
The easy answer would be "for all". You can use your avatar to get closer to your students or make them feel confident. You can also use it to share content through the internet with a more personal approach. You may want to use your avatar in other apps like Kahoot or Flipgrid. You can even use your avatar on social networks to share your feelings with your friends. The only limit is your imagination.
